Our Model
A Holistic Approach
From addressing root causes to education and intervention, Rain Collective’s 3-Tier model is a holistic approach to engaging exploitation and trafficking in the MENA region.
Because anti-human trafficking work in the MENA region is nascent, an iterative approach to growth is required. As a young organization we seek to create minimum viable programs and to tweak them into strong programs in the future. Through our education initiatives we seek to clarify needs for societal change and evaluate promising programs in a way that stimulates both our own initiatives and others. We call this mission building. We practice the starfish principles of leadership found in The Spider and the Starfish by seeking to be less of a top down bureaucracy and more like an organization that spurs on organic growth around us. This often means that as we discover new avenues of service, and other orgs and individuals step in to accomplish those services, we move on to discover new gaps in service that are needed. In this way, the movement grows.
Addressing Root Causes
We work with clusters of organizations within communities to co-create and co-implement 2–4-year projects that address root causes. These projects address different outcomes that make sustainable changes within those communities.
Education
We move beyond the myths and misinformation of well-intentioned data - to study, understand, and inform practitioners and policy makers of new information that is valuable to decreasing prevalence of human trafficking and providing survivor care.
Intervention
We hire and contract team members that have a passion for making a difference and that have rolled up their sleeves and gone to work. We especially support the social entrepreneur that is making an individual effort to make a difference.
