Welcome to the Rain Collective Blog: Our Mission, Our Vision, and Your Role
At Rain Collective, our mission is clear: to end human trafficking and exploitation in the MENA region. We believe that change starts with awareness, grows through education, and thrives with action. Our new blog is a key part of this mission, providing a platform to inform, inspire, and empower individuals like you to make a difference. The reason we are focused on the MENA region is because there is a gap in organizations fighting human traffickng in the region. Our goal is to fill this gap by defining our role in it and implementing excellent work.
Why This Blog?
Human trafficking is a complex global issue that affects millions of lives. Through our blog, we aim to shed light on the realities of exploitation, share survivor stories of resilience, and provide actionable ways for you to get involved in the fight against trafficking. Whether you're looking to learn, volunteer, or support, this space is for you. It is also a space where the I, the founder of the Rain Collective will speak directly to you about our strategies.
What You Can Expect
We will be posting twice weekly, with a focus on:
Tuesdays: Educational and informative content to deepen your understanding of human trafficking, such as key facts, root causes, and the latest trends in the field.
Fridays: Inspirational and actionable posts, including survivor stories, volunteer highlights, and practical ways you can contribute to the cause.
Our blog content is structured around four key themes throughout the year:
Awareness and Education (Q1): Understanding the issue, recognizing the signs, and learning how trafficking operates in the MENA region.
Survivor-Centric Approaches (Q2): Focusing on trauma-informed care, rehabilitation, and reintegration success stories.
Policy and Advocacy (Q3): Exploring legal frameworks, partnerships, and ways you can advocate for change.
Reflection and Vision (Q4): Looking back at our progress and setting goals for the future.
A meta-theme that will run through all of these sub-themes will be focused on victim identification.
